M.Ed. In Literacy with Reading Specialist Emphasis

The Concordia University, Nebraska M.Ed. in Literacy with Reading Specialist Emphasis degree program is designed for K-12 teachers seeking innovative and inspirational ways to help students learn, and love, reading, writing and the English language. This M.Ed. online program requires 36 credit hours to complete and offers candidates the practical strategies and academic theories for teaching any type of literacy program, including the ability to use assessment tools to adapt and customize these teaching approaches.

M.Ed. In Literacy with Reading Specialist and ESL Emphases

The Concordia University, Nebraska M.Ed. in Literacy with Reading Specialist and ESL Emphases degree program provides K-12 educators effective teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of diverse English as a Second Language and English Language Learner groups. This M.Ed. online program requires 51 credit hours to complete and offers candidates the resources to adapt elementary or secondary lesson plans based on coursework instruction, while also understanding and integrating cultural issues as part of their own instructional practice.

M.Ed. In Curriculum & Instruction

M.Ed. In Educational Administration

The Concordia University, Nebraska M.Ed. in Educational Administration degree program is designed to give teachers in elementary and/or secondary settings the academic theory and practical skills to advance their careers as school principals. This M.Ed. online program requires 36 credit hours to complete and gives elementary and secondary teachers the academic theory and practical skills to become engaged, community-oriented and transformational academic leaders. The 36-credit degree program offers a single Elementary or Secondary Administration Certification track. A 45 credit-hour Dual Certification M.Ed. program (elementary and secondary) is also available.

M.Ed. In Early Childhood Education

The Concordia University, Nebraska M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education degree program is designed to provide educators serving children (birth through age 8) and their families with advanced knowledge and techniques for resolving critical issues as accomplished teachers and leaders. This M.Ed. online program requires 36 credit hours to complete. The ECE program emphasizes the importance of working within each child's unique family and cultural environment, while promoting team-based approaches with other educators and support staff. The ECE curriculum also conforms to guidelines prescribed by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

M.Ed. In TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)

M.S. in Gerontology and Aging Studies - Administration concentration

The Concordia University, Nebraska M.S. in Gerontology and Aging Studies - Administration Concentration online degree program gives candidates comprehensive knowledge of issues and trends surrounding our aging (and longer-lived) population, including study of a broad range of societal implications and realities. The Administration concentration includes the 24 credit hours of Gerontology and Aging Studies coursework requirements, with an additional 12 credit hours of required courses dealing with long-term care, elder-care events and activities management, and issues related to aging in place.

M.S. in Gerontology and Aging Studies - Mental Health Concentration

The Concordia University, Nebraska M.S. in Gerontology and Aging Studies - Mental Health Concentration online degree program gives candidates comprehensive knowledge of issues and trends surrounding our aging (and longer-lived) population, including study of a broad range of societal implications and realities. The Mental Health concentration includes 24 credit hours of Gerontology and Aging Studies coursework requirements, with an additional 12 credit hours of required courses dealing with mental health issues in the elderly, biological issues relevant to aging and the brain, and geriatric counseling.

M.Ed. in Special Education - Inclusive Practices

The Concordia University, Nebraska M.Ed. in Special Education - Inclusive Practices degree program is designed to equip general education teachers to lead inclusive K-12 classrooms that fully engage and educate students with and without disabilities. The nonlicensure 36 credit-hour program likewise prepares Special Education instructors for inclusive, general education classroom instruction. The Special Education - Inclusive Practices curriculum combines a rigorous, fully online study of inclusive instructional methods, behavior management, and assessment techniques with an 80-hour practicum. The Special Education - Inclusive Practices program design conforms to the established professional standards by the Council for Exceptional Children for teachers in the field of special education; and is also accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). In addition to the core Special Education - Inclusive Practices M.Ed. program, degree candidates can take additional coursework to meet State of Nebraska requirements for a K-6 Subject Endorsement or 7-12 Subject Endorsement, or a K-12 Field Endorsement.
