The Concordia Special Education M.Ed. program prepares educators to teach the full continuum of students with disabilities (students with Mild to Moderate and Moderate to Severe Disabilities). This program provides candidates with the knowledge and skills to promote, advocate and support learning to ensure equitable access to the general education curriculum and positively impact quality of life outcomes for students across the full range of disabilities.

M.Ed: Special Education (Middle Level/High School)

M.Ed: Career and Technical Education (CTE)

This degree program is designed specifically for professional technical teachers or prospective candidates who seek a CTE teaching position at the high school or community college level. Students will gain skills in developing, implementing and assessing curricular and instructional plans that integrate disciplines; applying current educational research findings; and considering students' developmental levels.

M.Ed: Curriculum & Instruction: Adolescent Literacy

The M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction: Adolescent Literacy addresses the crisis in adolescent literacy in America's 6th through 12th grade students. Nearly seven out of every ten 8th graders are working below the proficient level in reading comprehension, and even high school students with average reading ability are unprepared for future workplace and postsecondary literacy demands. Through the completion of this concentration, educators will be prepared to lead the development and support of adolescent literacy in schools, school districts and in community-based settings.

M.Ed: Curriculum & Instruction: English Language Development

The M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction: English Language Development is designed for teachers in the elementary, secondary and post-secondary settings who want to enhance their content knowledge and skills in language development and acquisition in order to increase student learning and understanding of the fundamental structure of language and communication. The development of English language proficiency with low language native English speakers is included in this course of study. An emphasis is placed on transformative teaching strategies and practices that address structural methods for teaching language. The integration of technology to enrich student learning in the elementary and secondary school core curriculum via academic language are included in this course of study.

M.Ed: Curriculum & Instruction: Equity, Ethics, and Justice

The Equity, Ethics, and Justice concentration is designed to aid students in developing knowledge and expertise through the study of ethical principles and practices in education. Students will acquire the skills to become educational leaders who understands legal and ethical issues that relate to education today, and how they apply to the ethical dilemmas faced by educators.

M.Ed: Curriculum & Instruction: Common Core State Standards Instructional Leader

The M.Ed in Curriculum & Instruction: Common Core State Standards Instructional Leader prepares K-12 educators to become leaders in implementing and understanding Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

M.Ed: Curriculum & Instruction: Social Studies

The goal of the M.Ed in Curriculum & Instruction: Social Studies is to develop a deep understanding of the integration of Social Studies curriculum and Project-Based Learning while stimulating the teaching of Social Studies professionals and encouraging students to engage in historical work that will demonstrate the power of critical thinking in a globalizing world.

M.Ed: Curriculum & Instruction: Bible Literacy

This program covers Biblical concepts and allusions that are part of Western literature, performing arts and fine arts. Educators will be empowered to promote positive change using the ethical, legal and rigorous teaching of Bible literacy throughout their communities and schools.

M.Ed: Curriculum & Instruction: Leadership

Concordia University - Portland's fully online Master's degree program in Curriculum & Instruction: Leadership develops transformational leaders ready for roles beyond traditional educational administration. Concordia's one-year accredited M.Ed. online program consists of five-week courses that can be accessed via the Internet at a time and location most convenient for you. M.Ed: Curriculum & Instruction: STEM

The Concordia University - Portland M.Ed. degree program in Curriculum & Instruction: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is designed for preK-12 teachers wanting to develop the enhanced skills, knowledge, practical application and leadership abilities to effectively teach science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses in preK-12 classes. Candidates in this STEM concentration will learn how to make the connection between transformative education practices and how to effectively convey the scientific principles of critical thinking, problem solving, and inquiry to their students. EDD: Educational Administration

This fully online Doctorate degree program prepares candidates to be transformational leaders guiding public or nonpublic schools. This three year accredited Ed.D. program consists of courses seven and a half weeks in length, limited to a cohort of 15 candidates to maintain program quality.
